Introduction to the event
Assistant professor Pei-Chun Lin used Young Yushan Scholarship and fundings provided by NTHU to establish the cryo-EM satellite facility within the first year of the scholarship period. This facility provides essential devices and consumables. In addition, Dr. Lin organized a practical hand-on workshop which allowed young scientists to learn theoretical and practical aspects of sample preparation for single particle cryo-EM including prior quality control by negative staining.
Dr. Lin taught students how to make negative-staining grids.
Students learned to make cryo-grids step by step.
